Remains of buildings destroyed in the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake lie untouched as a memorial in Beichuan County, Wenchuan City, Southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The magnitude 8.0 earthquake struck Wenchuan on May 12, 2008, leaving more than 80,000 people reported dead or missing.

Nine years after the massive quake, Beichuan receives visitors who mourn the victims and researchers, who study seismology or emergency rescues.
